Connecting the printer

Printer ports

The printer accepts data through four ports:

■ LocalTalk

■ Parallel

■ Ethernet

■ Serial (RS-232)

Information on the serial port can be found in the following

places:

■ The Tektronix CD-ROM

■ HAL and EuroHAL, the Tektronix automated fax systems

■ Internet World Wide Web

For speciÞc information, refer to ÒIf you need helpÓ on page 6-1.

The Phaser 480X also includes a SCSI port, which is only used for connecting

an external hard disk. Refer to ÒAdding a hard disk for font storageÓ on

page B-3 for more information on the SCSI port.
