H Displayed information is interrupted by static horizontal or vertical lines

3. If (after a short wait) you can see that the display operates normally but the

display backlight does not turn on, then skip to Backlight on page 6–32.

4. If the instrument does not appear to turn on (no display backlight, no sound

of relay clicks, no displayed information), then continue with step 5.

5. Disconnect the AC adapter from the instrument. Remove the front cover

using the procedure Front Cover on page 6–11.

6. Reinstall the battery (removed in the Front Cover procedure).

7. Verify that the battery connector is properly connected. See Figure 6–17.

CAUTION. To avoid damage to the battery or battery contacts, be careful not to

short the conductors at the battery connector.
